Our mission is to provide education and exposure to the traditional style of Hawaiian music, with emphasis on the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. We issue three newsletters a year, which contain steel guitar news, resources, and club information. We also host an annual festival in Winchester, Indiana, with live performances, seminars, and a luau show.
HISTORY OF THE STEEL GUITAR
The steel guitar was invented in 1885 by a young Hawaiian boy named Joseph Kekuku. There are variations of the story.
