ABOUT US

AISGC13.jpg

The AISGC is dedicated toward the education, promotion, and perpetuation of the traditional style of Hawaiian music, with emphasis on the Hawaiian Steel Guitar. We are an organization made up of Hawaiian music enthusiasts, hoping to raise awareness for the music of Hawai’i as well as Hawaii’s very own native instrument, the steel guitar.

We accomplish our mission by organizing and sponsoring public festivals, exhibits, and workshops. We host an annual Hawaiian steel guitar festival in Winchester, Indiana, where performers of all skill levels are given an avenue to show their talents. We also publish a newsletter three times per year which contains information about Hawaiian music, historical Hawaiian musicians, steel guitar resources, club information, and more.
